What Is This Online Course?

  • A series of short, digestible videos that focus on Breath Exploration, Stretches, and Strengthening Exercises with variations on the floor, seated, standing, and using a wall for support. There are over 50 videos to explore!

  • The course is totally self-led and self-guided - there is no specific time span in which it must be completed.

  • Each exercise lasts no more than 8 minutes and can be combined into longer flows.

  • Minimal equipment required so they can be done anywhere (even while nap-trapped).

  • Deep-dives into anatomy during pregnancy and postpartum and common alignment problems - with solutions!

  • Resource lists for pregnancy & postpartum specifically for the MAMA, not for the baby or family.

Who Is This Online Course For?

  • Mamas at any stage - pregnancy, newly postpartum, years into motherhood, etc.

  • Singers of any genre and experience level

  • Voice teachers

  • Yoga teachers and practitioners

  • Breath-workers

  • Anyone who works routinely with mamas

  • Anyone who is curious to connect more deeply to their body, breath, and practice emotional regulation.

What Are The Goals?

  • Explore breath as a way to connect more deeply to your body and emotions.

  • Stay strong and connected to avoid the typical "pregnancy pains."

  • Grow strong for labor and postpartum recovery.

  • Build in the foundations of good alignment for all stages of the growth of your baby - and for life in general.

  • Expand your toolkit for prevention and soothing of pains linked to pregnancy and postpartum motherhood.

  • Begin to use breath as a translator for your body's signals and to help regulate (not suppress) emotions - and train your child's skills in emotional regulation at the same time.

What This Course is NOT

  • A "life hack" - this is a slow burn, life-changing journey through breath and movement that you can return to at any time.

  • A "bounce back" scheme. Why bounce back, when you can evolve into yourself?

  • A time-limited course. Because motherhood (and life at large) is so demanding of our time...

    • The videos are short, digestible, and can be done anywhere

    • There is no required completion date

    • There will be live sessions (with recordings) for new content and encouragement to keep engaging as you evolve and progress on your journey.

Who is The Somatic Singer?

Throughout a varied, cross-genre singing career, Claire Galloway has cultivated a deep interest in how our mind-body connection serves not only our vocal health but our true purpose as singers and people – communication and storytelling. In her private voice studio of twelve years, she has guided students of all levels and interests to develop their technique toolbox, connect to their body, expand their repertoire, and consistently seek out their own, authentic voice.

At the same time, she has been teaching somatic breathwork courses to singers, and non-singers, and expanding her knowledge by pursuing certifications in yoga and self-myofascial release.

As a new mother, it has become clear how important this work is to mothers at ANY stage - whether in pregnancy or in postpartum (which is forever and always after delivery). So she has combined her passions and her knowledge into this self-paced, self-guided course with bite-size, manageable videos of breath explorations, stretches, and strengthening exercises.

The goal of Pregnancy and Postpartum; Breathe, Stretch, and Strengthen is to keep mothers, singers, and people of all kinds from feeling helpless in the face of aches and pains - and to help us all feel more connected to our own bodies and emotions navigating the world as a mother, or as a human in general.
